The Speaker of Parliament, Igor Grosu, will pay a working visit to Brussels on 17-19 March, TRIBUNA reports.
The agenda includes discussions with the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, focused on supporting our country’s European integration path. The two parliamentary leaders will also participate as speakers at the high‑level conference on the future of support for democracy, organized at the European Parliament by the Democracy Support and Election Coordination Group.
During his meeting with the European Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, Igor Grosu will address the Republic of Moldova’s priorities in the EU accession process.
Throughout the visit, the Speaker has scheduled meetings with the Vice‑President of the European Parliament, Victor Negrescu, the Co‑Chair of the EU–Moldova Parliamentary Association Committee, Siegfried Mureșan, the chairs of several parliamentary groups, and the Secretary‑General of the European Parliament, Alessandro Chiocchetti. Igor Grosu will also attend the event marking the 50th anniversary of the European People’s Party. The agenda further includes a discussion with Moldovan journalists accredited to the European Parliament.
In Brussels, the Speaker of Parliament will also hold talks with the President of the Chamber of Representatives of the Belgian Parliament, Peter De Roover, as well as with representatives of the Foreign Affairs Committee and the parliamentary friendship group with the Republic of Moldova.
