The General Mayor, Ion Ceban, reports that laboratory test results from water samples taken at two different points — the Dubăsari hydropower plant and the Molovata area — show that the water from the Nistru River is not contaminated in that zone, TRIBUNA reports.
“Why was it necessary to create panic, and why did the Ministry of Health, early in the morning, send a letter claiming that Chișinău would be left without water? Why was it necessary for SIS representatives to go to educational institutions and other municipal entities to tell them that in two hours Chișinău would run out of water?” the mayor asked rhetorically.
According to the analyses carried out by specialists from “Apă-Canal Chișinău,” there is no danger to the water supply for the residents of Chișinău, and the water supply system is operating normally.
“Specialists continue to constantly monitor water quality to ensure consumer safety,” Ion Ceban assured.
