Deputy Prime Minister Popșoi will undertake working visits to Germany and Azerbaijan

Between March 3–5, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, Mihai Popșoi, will undertake a working visit to Hamburg and Berlin, Federal Republic of Germany.

The visit takes place at the invitation of Germany’s Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs, Johann Wandephul, TRIBUNA reports.

In Hamburg, Minister Mihai Popșoi will take part in the inauguration ceremony of the Honorary Consulate Office of the Republic of Moldova, which will strengthen Moldova’s presence in northern Germany and support Moldovan citizens living in the region.
The agenda includes meetings with the First Mayor of Hamburg, Peter Tschentscher, with the leadership of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as with representatives of the academic community.

On March 5, in Berlin, Mihai Popșoi will meet his German counterpart, Johann Wandephul, at the Federal Foreign Office, followed by a joint press conference scheduled for 11:15.

The Foreign Minister will also hold discussions with federal government officials and members of the Bundestag, including:

  • Anton Hofreiter, Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on European Affairs
  • Armin Laschet, Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee
  • Johannes Schraps, President of the German-Moldovan Parliamentary Forum
  • Gunther Sautter, Foreign and Security Policy Adviser to the Federal Chancellor

The program also includes discussions at the Federal Foreign Office, meetings with representatives of the German economic and analytical sectors, and participation in the conference “EU Enlargement – Perspectives for the Republic of Moldova.”

On March 6, Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi will pay a working visit to Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan, at the invitation of his Azerbaijani counterpart, Jeyhun Bayramov.
He will meet with Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, followed by joint press statements starting at 10:50.

The agenda also includes meetings with:

  • Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Parliament (Milli Majlis)
  • Elnur Aliyev, First Deputy Minister of Economy
  • Representatives of the energy company SOCAR

Additionally, the minister will lay flowers at the Alley of Honor and at the tomb of national leader Heydar Aliyev.
