Government Simplifies Procedure for Equipping Internal Affairs Personnel

Police officers, firefighters, rescuers, and carabineers will be equipped more quickly with the necessary gear and technical equipment, allowing them to intervene more efficiently in emergency situations. The Government has approved changes to the mechanism for supplying material resources to the authorities subordinated to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

“These changes will strengthen the response capacity of MIA subdivisions, enabling faster and more effective interventions for public safety, and ensuring proper equipment for both personnel and technical units. A better-equipped institution, with more flexibility in decision-making, ultimately means better protection for citizens,” stated Minister of Internal Affairs Daniella Misail‑Nichitin.

Currently, equipment standards — from service vehicles and technical devices to logistical supplies — are set through Government decisions. This procedure is complex and slow, limiting the ability to respond quickly to unforeseen situations.

Under the new provisions, equipment standards will be established directly by the MIA. This will significantly simplify the process, reduce bureaucracy, and allow subdivisions to adapt more easily to current challenges, including crisis situations.
