Ion Ceban: “It is serious when the president pardons people coordinating large‑scale drug schemes and shifts the blame onto various commissions”

Ion Ceban, the mayor of the capital and leader of the National Alternative Movement (MAN), says that “it is serious when the President of the Republic of Moldova pardons individuals who coordinate large‑scale drug‑related schemes and then shifts the blame onto various commissions that are part of the presidential institution,” TRIBUNA reports.

The politician noted that the country currently has a vertical concentration of power “unlike anything seen before,” and that this structure bears direct responsibility for what has happened, rather than pointing fingers at commissions.

“Colleagues in Parliament and legal experts should publicly present the draft decision for the parliamentary inquiry commission that is to be registered in Parliament regarding this situation.”

“This is a very serious issue and one that must not be ignored,” Ion Ceban added.
