Post‑election analysis conference takes place. CEC President: “Elections are moments of democratic truth”

In Chișinău, on 19–20 February 2026, the post‑election analysis conference “Parliamentary Elections in the Republic of Moldova, 28 September 2025: Electoral Integrity and Perspectives for Democratic Consolidation” is being held, TRIBUNA reports.

Over two days, participants are examining how the 2025 parliamentary elections were organized, highlighting achievements, challenges, lessons learned, and solutions for improving the electoral process.

In her opening remarks, Angela Caraman, President of the Central Electoral Commission, emphasized that this exercise is not merely a formality, but a responsibility to transform accumulated experience into a step forward for strengthening democracy and Moldova’s European path.

“Elections are moments of democratic truth, when trust in institutions and the certainty that the citizen’s voice matters are measured,” she stated, noting that “at the same time, the experience of the last election obliges us to strengthen institutional resilience in the face of increasingly complex challenges — from political financing and disinformation to cybersecurity.”

The discussions within the conference focus on identifying concrete solutions for improving electoral legislation and the electoral process, with priority given to protecting the integrity of the vote and strengthening citizens’ trust.
