President Maia Sandu met today with a delegation of U.S. Senators led by Senator Jeanne Shaheen. The delegation also included Senators Richard Blumenthal, Sheldon Whitehouse, and Chris Coons, TRIBUNA reports.

The discussions focused on bilateral cooperation, the regional security context, and Moldova’s efforts to strengthen its resilience and advance its European path.

The President expressed gratitude for the United States’ ongoing support to the Republic of Moldova, including investments in national security and the energy sector.

The interlocutors also discussed developments in Ukraine and emphasized the need to intensify economic restrictive measures against Russia in order to bring the war to an end.
