The Anti-Drug Conference “Education – an essential element in preventing drug use” brought together 350 participants, including representatives of general education institutions and 125 students who are members of School Councils, alongside specialists from the fields of health, social assistance, police, and civil society, TRIBUNA reports.
The Mayor General of the capital, Ion Ceban, addressed the audience: “We spoke about a truth we cannot afford to ignore: the drug problem is real and is getting closer to schools, to young people, to our families. Drugs do not destroy only one person — they destroy families, relationships, friendships, and futures.
This is why prevention must be a joint effort. Teachers, school administrations, parents, and young people are the first to notice changes in behavior and can intervene in time.
We cannot remain indifferent. We must act together, with state institutions and civil society, to protect our children and young people. No one is fully protected. That is why prevention and early intervention are essential.”
The event was organized by the Chisinau City Hall, in partnership with the Public Association SINERGI Moldova, MLNR, and MLN.
