Secretary General of the Government Alexei Buzu states that more than 340 localities are already engaged in the voluntary amalgamation process, TRIBUNA reports.
According to the official, the process is advancing, with new initiation decisions being adopted every week.
“We believe that local elected officials and communities know best how to join forces for a more prosperous future, and we, at the governmental level, will simplify the process, provide long-term financial incentives, and offer greater flexibility.
Voluntary amalgamation remains a key instrument in reforming local public administration and in building stronger town halls capable of delivering better services for citizens,” Buzu said.
