Priorities for 2026 — discussed by Cristina Gherasimov with members of the Parliamentary Committee for European Integration

The Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov, met with members of the Parliamentary Committee for European Integration to discuss the pace of accession negotiations, the clarity of commitments undertaken on the European agenda, and the government’s responsibility toward citizens in 2026, TRIBUNA reports.

The Deputy Prime Minister presented the progress achieved by the Republic of Moldova over the past year on its European path, as well as the main priorities for the period ahead, as the country enters a new phase of accession negotiations.

“We discussed how we monitor the implementation of the National Programme for EU Accession 2025–2029, how we track compliance with the deadlines, and how we coordinate the institutions involved so that reforms are delivered on time and with concrete results. We reviewed the chapters where we are advancing faster, as well as the areas that pose challenges and require additional efforts,” Cristina Gherasimov stated.

The discussion highlighted the essential role of Parliament — particularly the Committee for European Integration — as a key partner in aligning national legislation with the EU acquis and in strengthening political consensus around the European objective.

“I encouraged the members of the Committee to continue working together, with responsibility and unity, because the reforms we implement at home are not about reports or procedures, but about real changes that will improve people’s lives and bring tangible benefits to communities across the country,” the Deputy Prime Minister added.
