This week, the first meetings within the technical negotiations on Cluster 1 took place — an important milestone in the Republic of Moldova’s path toward European Union accession, TRIBUNA reports.
“Together with colleagues from the European Commission, we discussed what needs to be done to implement priority reforms under Chapters 23 and 24, which cover the rule of law, justice, fundamental rights, the fight against corruption, and state security,” said Cristina Gherasimov.
These chapters form the intermediate stage of the negotiations and determine Moldova’s progress in all other areas of the accession process.
“Real progress in the rule of law is the key to the entire European path. We have a year of intensive work ahead, with clear reforms and measurable results. Moldova enters this stage prepared and determined to deliver,” Deputy Prime Minister Gherasimov noted.
