The General Mayor of Chișinău, Ion Ceban, held a meeting with the Ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova, H.E. Iwona Piórko.
During the discussions, the parties addressed the current situation of the Capital, the implementation of the EU Growth Plan for the Republic of Moldova, and the administrative‑territorial reform.
“Key development areas were highlighted, including energy efficiency, waste management, and the expansion of cooperation with the European Union through concrete investment projects and technical assistance,” Ion Ceban emphasized.
The General Mayor expressed gratitude for the continuous support offered by the European Union to the Republic of Moldova, stressing the importance of the EU–local authorities partnership for the sustainable development of the Capital.
He also recalled that the municipality of Chișinău holds the largest EU‑funded project portfolio in the country, financed through various instruments, with a total value of approximately 4.5 billion lei.
