Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov met with the President of the Riigikogu of Estonia, Lauri Hussar, the President of the Saeima of Latvia, Daiga Mieriņa, and the President of the Seimas of Lithuania, Juozas Olekas, TRIBUNA reports.
“I was pleased to welcome them to Chișinău and to discuss the recent progress on our European agenda, the objectives ahead of us, and how we can draw on the experience and lessons learned by the three states during their EU accession process,” said Cristina Gherasimov.
The Deputy Prime Minister thanked the authorities in Tallinn, Riga, and Vilnius for their strong partnership and consistent support for the Republic of Moldova’s European path.
“The Baltic States are an example of development and resilience. For more than 20 years as EU member states, the citizens of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania have enjoyed numerous benefits, freedoms, and opportunities,” Gherasimov noted.
It is worth recalling that nearly two years ago, the presidents of the three Baltic States — Alar Karis (Estonia), Edgars Rinkēvičs (Latvia), and Gitanas Nausėda (Lithuania) — visited the Republic of Moldova.
