Government priorities, regional security and the further development of Moldovan–American cooperation were the main topics addressed during the meeting between Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu and Christopher Smith, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State of the United States, who is on a working visit to the Republic of Moldova, TRIBUNA reports.
Prime Minister Munteanu expressed his gratitude for the support provided by the United States for the construction of the 400 kV Strășeni–Gutinaș overhead power line, a project that will significantly strengthen Moldova’s energy security.
The American official praised the progress made by the authorities in Chișinău in implementing reforms aimed at improving living conditions for citizens. He also underlined the United States’ openness to expanding the export of Moldovan products to the US market.
The two officials additionally discussed the reconstruction of Ukraine and the contribution that the Republic of Moldova is prepared to offer, including its readiness to serve as a logistical and economic corridor.
