Speaker of Parliament Igor Grosu met with Izabela Sylwia Hartmann, the Acting Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, TRIBUNA reports.
During the meeting, Igor Grosu reiterated the Republic of Moldova’s firm commitment to a peaceful settlement of the Transnistrian conflict.
“We are closely monitoring the human rights situation on the left bank of the Nistru, where restrictions and practices that contradict international standards persist. We appreciate the OSCE Mission’s continuous efforts in this process.
I am confident that the process of joining the European Union will bring benefits to citizens on both banks of the Nistru and will contribute to the reunification of the country.
People on the left bank of the Nistru deserve to be part of a democratic and developed state that respects the rights of every citizen,” Igor Grosu stated during the meeting.
