Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu met with the President of the Republic of Albania, Bajram Begaj, who is on an official visit to the Republic of Moldova. The discussions focused on the shared strategic objective of both countries — integration into the European Union.

“The Republic of Moldova and Albania share the same strategic goal: to become member states of the European Union. It is a path that requires work and perseverance, but it is also a path that gives us hope, strengthens our institutions, and brings us closer to a safer future,” Igor Grosu emphasized.

The two officials also discussed bilateral cooperation. The Speaker highlighted the importance of continuing reforms and strengthening the rule of law. “The European Union will be stronger alongside states that share its values and choose democracy, freedom, and respect for people. Moldova and Albania move forward with the same conviction: Europe is our home,” Grosu concluded.

President of Albania Bajram Begaj is paying an official visit to the Republic of Moldova between 18–20 January, at the invitation of President Maia Sandu.
