The Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization (MDED) and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation have signed the Implementation Agreement for the project “Strengthening Trust, Integrity and Compliance within and between SMEs and the Public Sector in Moldova (STIC).”
The project will run until 2028 and aims to enhance integrity and compliance among small and medium‑sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Republic of Moldova, contributing to a more transparent, competitive, and resilient business environment.
With a total budget of 3.92 million Swiss francs (over 80 million lei), the initiative will support SMEs in the agriculture and construction sectors in applying simplified compliance and integrity mechanisms. The agreement will also help reduce bureaucratic burdens and improve transparency in interactions between businesses and public institutions.
The project seeks to reduce corruption risks, strengthen trust between the public and private sectors, and encourage the transition of businesses from the informal to the formal economy. These measures will contribute to building a healthy, ethical, and competitive business environment in the Republic of Moldova.
The STIC project is implemented by GFA Consulting Group with the support of the Government of Switzerland, in partnership with national authorities.
