Government: Attention! Winter driving conditions across the entire country

Due to heavy snowfall nationwide, the Government has issued several updates, TRIBUNA reports.

According to the National Road Administration, more than 200 road workers are currently deployed on national routes, and the Operational Service updates information every minute regarding road segments where traffic is difficult. If you are in need of assistance, you can call at any time: (+373) 78 337 744 and (+373) 60 477 117 (also available on Viber/WhatsApp).

The Police of the Republic of Moldova is also on duty across all major routes. Given the challenging weather conditions, drivers are urged to avoid travel as much as possible and not to park heavy vehicles on the roadway or in residential courtyards, as this obstructs the work of specialized services.

Border crossing situation

As of 20:00, the situation is as follows: truck traffic entering the Republic of Moldova is temporarily restricted.

  • Palanca and Tudora border crossing points — truck transit temporarily suspended.
  • Costești border crossing point — truck entry temporarily not permitted.

To prevent blockages on national roads, vehicles are being directed and parked at the Customs Service terminal.

Additionally, starting at 17:15, truck circulation has been temporarily halted on the R‑30 route, including the segment passing through Troița Nouă village and the bypass road around the locality.

Recommendations for winter driving

  • adjust your speed to weather and road conditions;
  • equip your vehicle properly for the cold season;
  • avoid routes with temporary restrictions;
  • follow the instructions of authorities and road signage.
