The Government of the Republic of Moldova has issued a series of clarifications regarding the pensions that will be paid in the new year.
“The Government takes care of the elderly.
In 2026, the minimum old‑age pension will increase to 3,263 lei. In 2025, 30.7 billion lei were allocated for pensions, and for 2026, allocations will rise by 11.2% — reaching 34.18 billion lei.
Last year, more elderly people received home‑based social care — 15,077 persons in 2025 compared to 13,026 in 2024,” the institution reported.
The Government also announced that it will continue implementing the “University for the Third Age” Program, through which 457 people over the age of 65 have already returned to studies, benefiting from opportunities for learning, socialization, and active community involvement.
