As of 2 January 2026, the number of voters registered in the State Voter Register is 3,299,794.

Out of the total number of registered voters (3,299,794), 2,763,719 citizens with voting rights are assigned to second‑level administrative‑territorial units (see table below).

The difference represents persons who hold the citizenship of the Republic of Moldova but do not have a registered domicile or residence, including those who have officially emigrated abroad (258,440 persons), as well as citizens with voting rights whose domicile is registered in the administrative‑territorial units on the left bank of the Nistru, which are temporarily outside the sovereign control of the constitutional authorities of the Republic of Moldova (277,635 persons).
