National Programme for Accession to the European Union for 2025–2029 Updated

The Government has updated the main strategic planning document guiding the reforms required for the country’s accession to the European Union, TRIBUNA reports.

The update of the National Programme for Accession to the European Union for the period 2025–2029 was necessary to incorporate the recommendations of the European Commission’s 2025 Enlargement Report, as well as the new commitments undertaken by the Republic of Moldova in the EU accession negotiation process.

The Programme will be supplemented with the legislative measures needed to align national legislation with EU standards, along with concrete actions for implementation and for strengthening institutional capacities. It will also include roadmaps for public administration reform, the rule of law and the functioning of democratic institutions, as well as the Reform Agenda from the 2025–2027 Growth Plan.

The updated Programme provides a unified and coherent vision of the reforms, clearly defines institutional responsibilities, implementation deadlines and progress monitoring mechanisms, including through digital tools.

The implementation of the National Programme for Accession will contribute to the modernization of public administration, the improvement of services for citizens, increased economic competitiveness and the gradual alignment of the Republic of Moldova with European standards of living.

The update of the Programme was carried out following an extensive consultation process involving public authorities, civil society, the business community and academia.
