General Mayor Ion Ceban held an official meeting with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Moldova, Dong Zhihua, who paid a courtesy visit to the Chisinau City Hall. The meeting focused on topics of common interest related to strengthening bilateral cooperation at the local level.

According to the mayor, discussions centered on enhancing cooperation between the municipality of Chisinau and partners from the People’s Republic of China, with emphasis on areas such as the rehabilitation of old buildings, urban infrastructure development, road modernization, and the improvement of parks and green spaces.
“We discussed opportunities for exchanging experience and best practices in local public administration, urban development, and infrastructure project management. An important topic of the meeting was the direct cooperation between the municipality of Chisinau and cities in China,” Ion Ceban added.

The municipality of Chisinau has cooperation agreements with the cities of Beijing, Qingdao, and Chongqing, as well as a twinning agreement with the city of Xi’an — partnerships that provide a solid basis for launching and implementing joint projects.

The meeting reaffirmed the interest of both sides in developing municipal-level cooperation and in capitalizing on existing potential for the benefit of Chisinau’s residents.
