President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, held a meeting in Chișinău with Romania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana Țoiu, who was on a working visit to the Republic of Moldova on the occasion of the Annual Meeting of Moldovan Ambassadors, TRIBUNA reports.
During the discussions, President Maia Sandu reiterated that Romania remains the Republic of Moldova’s number one strategic partner and its main supporter in the country’s European path, energy security, economic development, and connectivity with the European Union.
The two officials focused in particular on the next steps in Moldova’s EU accession process. Minister Oana Țoiu reaffirmed Romania’s commitment to continue being a strong and consistent voice in support of the Republic of Moldova within the European Union.
