Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, Mihai Popșoi, hosted Romania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana-Silvia Țoiu, who was in Chișinău to participate in the Meeting of Heads of Moldovan Diplomatic Missions and Consular Offices Abroad.
The discussions focused on strengthening the Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Moldova and Romania, advancing bilateral cooperation in political, economic and security areas, and supporting Moldova’s European integration path.
During the panel dedicated to the Strategic Partnership with Romania, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was highlighted that bilateral trade has exceeded 3 billion euros, while Romanian investments in the Republic of Moldova amount to approximately 35 million euros. The importance of concrete connectivity and economic cooperation projects was also emphasized.
“Moldova and Romania are connected through a solid strategic partnership, reflected in concrete projects and direct benefits for citizens. We aim to further expand economic and investment cooperation so that the results are truly felt in people’s daily lives,” stated Mihai Popșoi.
For her part, Romania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana-Silvia Țoiu, reaffirmed Romania’s support for the Republic of Moldova, both bilaterally and in its European trajectory. “Our strategic partnership delivers concrete results and will continue to strengthen for the benefit of our citizens,” she said.
At the end of the visit, the two ministers reconfirmed their commitment to deepening the Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Moldova and Romania, ensuring that it continues to generate tangible results in economic development, security, well-being and Moldova’s European integration.
