President Maia Sandu met with the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Odile Renaud-Basso. The discussions focused on boosting economic growth, attracting investment, and making use of the opportunities offered by the EU Growth Plan, as the Republic of Moldova advances on its path toward European integration.

President Maia Sandu expressed her gratitude for the EBRD’s consistent support and for the increase in investments in the Republic of Moldova over the past four years. The Head of State reiterated the authorities’ commitment to creating a predictable and transparent business environment to attract foreign investment into Moldova’s economy.

To date, the EBRD has invested nearly €2.9 billion in 193 projects in the Republic of Moldova, of which €1.7 billion has been allocated since 2022. Approximately 40% of the EBRD’s portfolio is directed toward infrastructure, while investments in energy, connectivity, and support for small and medium-sized enterprises aim to directly contribute to sustainable economic growth and to strengthening Moldova’s European trajectory.
