On 8–10 December 2025, NATO’s Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy, Ambassador Boris Ruge, paid an official visit to the Republic of Moldova.
In Chisinau, the NATO Assistant Secretary General met the Moldovan Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu and other key officials to discuss the long-standing partnership between the Alliance and the Republic of Moldova, including opportunities to further strengthen political dialogue and practical cooperation based on the national requirements and in full respect of Moldova’s neutrality.
During the visit, Ambassador Ruge and Minister of Defence Anatolie Nosatîi attended a handover ceremony of NATO assistance under the Defence Capacity Building Initiative (DCBI). The assistance delivery included protective gear, vehicles, medical training and IT equipment.
Ambassador Ruge thanked the Republic of Moldova for its commitment to regional security and its participation in NATO-led international peacekeeping force in Kosovo.
During his visit to Moldova, the NATO official gave an interview to Moldova 1 public television station and engaged with representatives of civil society.
