Repair works on 206 km of regional roads have already been completed, and another 66 km are set to be rehabilitated by the end of this year. The report on the implementation of the Road Fund allocation program for national public roads, covering the period from January 1 to October 31, 2025, was presented at the meeting of the Road Fund Council, chaired by Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu, TRIBUNA reports.
This year, through the Road Fund, the Government allocated 1.21 billion lei for the repair of regional road surfaces — essential investments aimed at improving connectivity between villages and cities, increasing road safety, and ensuring daily travel comfort for thousands of citizens. Currently, the overall progress of these works stands at 93%.
A total of 2 billion lei was allocated for works carried out between January 1 and October 31, 2025 — including the repair of regional roads, summer and winter maintenance, periodic upkeep, capital repairs of roads and bridges, as well as co-financing rehabilitation projects.
A separate topic of discussion focused on preparations for the winter season on national roads. According to the report of the National Roads Administration, 466 units of vehicles and road machinery will be deployed for winter maintenance works — snow removal and spreading of anti-skid materials. At the same time, the quantities of anti-skid materials and technical salt to be stored in 39 district depots have been verified.
Meanwhile, 50 video cameras have been installed on national roads to monitor and visualize traffic conditions during the winter period. For real-time information on road traffic conditions in winter, a special service will operate around the clock with the following contact details: 078337744 and 060477117, email: [email protected].
Currently, the National Roads Administration manages 5,993 km of national roads, including 631 km of express roads, 2,011 km of republican roads, and 3,350 km of regional roads.
