Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov, recently took part in two international conferences focused on EU enlargement and strengthening security across the continent: the EU – Western Balkans Summit and the Grand Continent Summit, TRIBUNA reports.
“I spoke about what we managed to achieve over the past year, about the progress and reforms carried out by the Republic of Moldova despite all the hybrid attacks we faced. I shared how we overcame many challenges and continued with determination on our path towards the EU. Today, both technically and politically, we are ready to move to the next stage in the accession negotiations. I was glad to hear that our country is cited as an example of resilience in the fight to defend democracy and the European dream,” said Cristina Gherasimov.
On the sidelines of the Grand Continent Summit, Deputy Prime Minister Gherasimov had a constructive discussion with Eleonore Caroit, France’s Minister for Francophonie and International Partnerships: “We talked about the projects currently being implemented in the Republic of Moldova, and I expressed gratitude for the support provided by the French government to our citizens.”
Cristina Gherasimov also met with Nobel Peace Prize laureate Oleksandra Matviiciuk: “Her courage reminds us that the European path of Moldova and Ukraine means, above all, safety, freedom, and dignity for our people.”
