“We support the Republic of Moldova now and in the future. You are ready to open accession negotiations with the EU on certain chapters, and the European Parliament will continue to be an active partner in this process.” The statement belongs to MEP Siegfried Mureșan, head of the European Parliament delegation that arrived in Chișinău on the occasion of the EU–Moldova Parliamentary Association Committee meeting, TRIBUNA reports.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu expressed gratitude for the support offered to our country by the European Parliament, including the approval of the Growth Plan for Moldova worth €1.9 billion.
“A large part of the funds we receive through the Growth Plan will be directed towards investments. The Government’s main objective is to ensure economic growth and to increase production capacity, including of high value-added goods. We will continue to invest in infrastructure development – through the construction of roads and bridges that will directly connect us to the European network,” stated the Head of Government.
At the session, officials discussed the draft state budget law for 2026, investments in energy and education, the situation in the field of defense, as well as the Government’s objectives regarding the settlement of the Transnistrian issue.
