Progress in implementing the Reform Agenda measures, reviewed at the monitoring meeting for the Moldova Growth Plan

The progress achieved in implementing the Reform Agenda measures for the second semester of this year was reviewed at the monitoring meeting for the implementation of the Moldova Growth Plan. The discussions were attended by Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu, members of the Cabinet of Ministers, and the European Commission delegation led by Gert Jan Koopman, Director-General for Enlargement and Eastern Neighbourhood (DG ENEST), TRIBUNA reports.

The Head of Government emphasized that institutions are fully committed to implementing the agenda and delivering the planned measures within the established timeframe. “We are working to advance at an accelerated pace, and our alignment with European standards is not only for compliance with EU requirements, but also stems from our national commitment as part of internal development, improving living standards, and ensuring the progress of the Republic of Moldova,” said Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu.

Some of the planned measures have already been fully completed and included in the first semi-annual report. The others are in the process of implementation and target the energy, economic, labour, and environmental sectors. Based on the results achieved, preparation of the second semi-annual report will begin in the coming days. Progress in implementing the actions of the Growth Plan enables the unlocking of European funds and new investments in projects beneficial to citizens.

Secretary-General of the Government, Alexei Buzu, spoke about investment projects in the context of the Moldova Growth Plan and appreciated the Commission’s openness to dialogue, guidance, and support.

The Growth Plan, supported by the European Union, is the largest and most ambitious financial assistance package in the history of the Republic of Moldova, amounting to €1.9 billion. It offers a unique opportunity to boost economic growth and improve citizens’ living standards.
