President Maia Sandu conveyed a congratulatory message to Romania, which today celebrates its National Day. She emphasized the importance of the historic moment of December 1, 1918, and the values that laid the foundation of the Great Union, TRIBUNA reports.
“Today we celebrate the historic moment of December 1, 1918 – a moment that, more than a century ago, opened the path to peace, freedom, and democracy for the Romanian people. These values, however, are now threatened more than ever,” stated the head of state.
President Maia Sandu further highlighted that it is our duty to honor through deeds the efforts and sacrifices of those who made possible the historic decision at Alba Iulia. “To defend their legacy, so that we, in turn, may leave our children and grandchildren a Romanian space where they can live free, dignified, and with respect for national values,” she added.
