Today, the Government approved the opinion on amendments to the draft law on the modification of the state budget for 2025. The main reallocated source, amounting to 147.6 million lei, is intended for first-level local public authorities to cover expenses related to salary payments, TRIBUNA reports.

The funds will be directed towards increasing general-purpose transfers, aimed at granting a 50% bonus to the base salary for mayors, deputy mayors, and local council secretaries. The measure seeks to strengthen the managerial capacities of local public administration and encourage efficient governance at the community level.

The amendments approved by the Government do not affect the main indicators of the state budget, previously approved by the Government and adopted by Parliament in the first reading.
