The President of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Grosu, welcomed today the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), Theodoros Rousopoulos, in the context of the PACE meetings hosted by the Moldovan Parliament, reports TRIBUNA.
“I told him that it is an honor for our country to hold the Presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, and that we will carry out this mandate with the utmost responsibility.
I also reaffirmed the Republic of Moldova’s determination to fulfill its commitments as a member state of the Council of Europe, with the goal of completing the Parliamentary Assembly’s monitoring procedure,” the official stated.
Igor Grosu further emphasized that Moldova is an ally of free and democratic nations. “Moldova is deeply committed to preserving and strengthening European values and the European Union — because that is our home, and that is where we are headed,” he added.
