On the night of November 19, 2025, a mobile patrol of the Border Police reported detecting the sound of an unidentified flying object, resembling a drone, approximately 2,000 meters from the state border line, in the direction of Săiți (Republic of Moldova) – Lesnoe (Ukraine). The aircraft was reportedly flying at an altitude of up to 100 meters, along the route Alexandrovca (UA) – Săiți (RM), later heading toward Tocuz and Opaci, TRIBUNA reports.

The Border Police informed the Ukrainian side, which confirmed the sighting of a drone on Ukrainian territory, without any explosive payload. The aircraft later disappeared from the radar of Ukrainian authorities. The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Moldova has not confirmed the overflight of national airspace.

Based on the information received, procedural measures provided by current legislation have been undertaken. The area where the drone is believed to have passed is being checked, and so far, no objects posing risks to citizens’ safety have been identified.

The Border Police remains in contact with national institutions and international partners, continuing to ensure the surveillance and security of the state border and the citizens of the Republic of Moldova.
