Government Reaffirms Commitment to European Agenda and Tangible Results for Citizens

The Government’s commitment to advancing on the European agenda and delivering concrete results for citizens was reaffirmed during Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu’s meeting with European Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, in Brussels. The officials discussed Moldova’s progress, in light of last week’s European Commission Report, which acknowledged the country’s achievements on the path to European integration, TRIBUNA reports.

“We’ve made remarkable progress over the past year and aim to open negotiation chapters as soon as possible. Enlargement is a merit-based process, and Moldova proves every day that it can implement reforms and fulfill the commitments needed to become a European state. Recognition of our work also means an opportunity to move forward,” said Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu.

According to the Prime Minister, Moldova has faced significant external interference, and the lessons learned are relevant for all European states. Therefore, the Republic of Moldova is ready to share its experience, integrate into European peace and security initiatives, and become an active partner in building a strong Europe.

“Moving forward toward EU membership means a guarantee of peace and stability for the Republic of Moldova,” emphasized Prime Minister Munteanu.

For her part, European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos noted that the Republic of Moldova has made the greatest annual progress among all candidate countries—proof of the determination with which the country advances toward EU accession.
