Irina Vlah, President of the Republican Party “Heart of Moldova,” has requested that Canada remove her from the list of sanctioned individuals. This follows her review of the response from the Canadian Foreign Affairs Ministry’s Sanctions Bureau to her September 10, 2025 inquiry, which indicated that there were no grounds for her to be sanctioned, according to TRIBUNA.
“After analyzing the Canadian authorities’ response to my September 10 inquiry, I am once again convinced that I was right to suspect from the beginning that the trail would lead to Chișinău. The Canadian authorities stated they worked with open-source data and even attached some links. I won’t name the websites (at least not at this stage), but I must point out that they are dubious sites from the Republic of Moldova, known for political bias. I mentioned this in my new address to the Canadian authorities and provided arguments showing that the defamatory information about me is false, and some of it is entirely irrelevant to the decision made against me,” said Irina Vlah.
The leader of the Republican Party “Heart of Moldova” also emphasized to Canadian authorities that the decision to include her on the sanctions list was later used by her political opponents in Chișinău to persecute her.
Irina Vlah has called on Canadian authorities to correct the injustice committed against her by removing her from the list of sanctioned individuals.
