During the Conference on the EU 2025 Enlargement Report, the European Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, emphasized that in the coming period, the progress of the Republic of Moldova will be assessed in particular in the areas of justice, the fight against corruption, the independence of the financial system and the transparency of public procurement.
In 2025,Moldova significantly got closer to the European Union:
started the implementation of the largest investment package in the country’s history – the 38 billion lei Growth Plan, which will modernize the economy;
strengthened energy resilience, keeping prices under control, increasing its own energy production and preparing for integration into the EU energy market in the next two years
joined the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) and will enter the European free roaming zone from 1 January 2026.
