European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos met this morning with Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu, Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov and other members of the new Government.

Commissioner Kos welcomed the fact that the new Cabinet is prioritizing economic growth, emphasizing that it is essential for the benefits of European integration to be felt by all Moldovan citizens. Discussions also focused on the reforms necessary for accession, the strengthening of the rule of law, the development of infrastructure and the continued support of the European Union in advancing these objectives.

The Commissioner congratulated the Republic of Moldova on the substantial progress reflected in the 2025 Enlargement Report for the Republic of Moldova, which confirms the increased level of preparedness for 21 chapters of the acquis and steady developments in all key areas.
