The Foreign Policy Committee of the 12th Legislature is suspending parliamentary friendship groups with Russia and Belarus for the duration of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, TRIBUNA reports.
The announcement was made by Committee Chair Doina Gherman, who stated:
“We firmly believe in maintaining friendship groups with states that respect the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of our country, as well as human dignity and freedom.”
“Republic of Moldova is a peace-loving country with many good friends. Currently, we have friendship groups with the national parliaments of 54 countries, through which we strengthen dialogue, cooperation, and mutual trust between peoples,” the MP added.
