Alexandru Munteanu, designated as Prime Minister, addressed the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, seeking support for a governance program focused on economic growth, efficiency, and European integration.
He praised Moldova’s recent progress, noting its transformation from a “captured state” into a respected regional actor admired for its democratic reforms. Munteanu thanked President Maia Sandu and the PAS parliamentary group for their trust, and expressed deep gratitude to Moldovan citizens for their resilience and commitment to change.
“I ask for your support for a professional team and a program that prepares Moldova for EU accession. I will be a Prime Minister who listens, respects, and works—not a populist,” he stated.
His proposed program, titled “EU, Peace, Development”, outlines 15 sectoral priorities, including:
- Efficient governance and digital public services
- Completion of EU accession negotiations by 2028
- €4 billion in investments and support for 25,000 businesses
- Inclusive education and healthcare modernization
- Environmental protection and energy independence
- Infrastructure upgrades and social inclusion
- Justice reform, cultural development, and national security
Munteanu presented a cabinet combining experience and fresh energy, and called on all deputies—supporters and opposition alike—to reflect on Moldova’s future and unite for the country’s prosperity and European path.
