Six Parliamentary Factions and One Independent Deputy to Serve in Moldova’s 12th Legislature

According to TRIBUNA, six parliamentary factions and one independent deputy will be active in the newly constituted 12th Legislature of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova.

  • Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) has formed a faction of 55 deputies, including Dinu Plîngău and Stela Macari. The faction will be led by Doina Gherman, with Veronica Roșca, Lilian Carp, and Ion Groza as vice presidents, and Igor Chiriac as secretary.
  • Socialist Party Faction will include 17 deputies and will be chaired by Igor Dodon. Zinaida Greceanîi will serve as vice president, and Alla Darovannaia as secretary.
  • Communist Party Faction will have 8 deputies. Diana Caraman will lead the faction, with Valeriu Muduc as vice president and Andrei Godoroja as secretary.
  • Alternativa Bloc Faction will consist of 8 deputies, led by Gaik Vartanean. Olga Ursu will serve as vice president, and Liliana Iaconi as secretary.
  • Our Party Faction will include 6 deputies, chaired by Renato Usatîi. Elena Grițco will be vice president, and Alexandr Berlinschi will serve as secretary.
  • “Democracy at Home” Party Faction will also have 6 deputies, led by Vasile Costiuc. Sergiu Stefanco will be vice president, and Ana Țurcanu will serve as secretary.

Deputy Vasile Tarlev will serve as an independent, having no other party colleagues in Parliament. He expressed regret that the Socialist and Communist parties chose to form separate factions.

With its 55 deputies, PAS has announced the formation of the parliamentary majority in the 12th Legislature.

The factions of the Socialists, Communists, Alternativa Bloc, Our Party, “Democracy at Home,” and independent deputy Vasile Tarlev have declared themselves in opposition.
