President Maia Sandu stated that Moldova needs a Prime Minister capable of revitalizing the economy and attracting more investments, and Alexandru Munteanu is the right candidate for this role.
She explained that after Dorin Recean announced his departure from the government, she and several senior members of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) discussed potential successors.
“After considering several options, we concluded that Mr. Munteanu is the most suitable. I called him, and after a few discussions, he accepted. I’ve known him personally since the 1990s. I’ve followed his professional path from afar. He has managerial experience, shares our values, and understands economics. He also has life experience, not just professional. Often, the hardest part is finding someone with serious managerial expertise,” Sandu said during the “Realitatea te privește” program on Rlive.
She also confirmed that Igor Grosu wishes to continue and will remain in his role as President of Parliament.
