The National Commission for Financial Markets of the Republic of Moldova repeatedly warns the public about widespread “investment” fraud schemes

The National Commission for Financial Markets (CNPF) of the Republic of Moldova is once again drawing public attention to the rapid spread of fraudulent “investment” schemes, especially following media reports about the 𝐓𝐔𝐗 platform and the aggressive promotion of similar platforms, reports TRIBUNA.

Be extremely cautious! Fake “experts” are targeting citizens via messaging apps and promoting these dubious “investment” schemes through social media.

Key characteristics of these fraud schemes include:

  1. Use of WhatsApp, Telegram, Viber, and other messaging apps to create “investment” groups.
  2. Presence of a so-called “mentor,” “coach,” “professor,” or “consultant” — a “crypto expert” leading the group.
  3. Promises of quick and substantial profits.
  4. Encouragement to recruit new members — often friends and family — with rewards for each referral.
  5. Redirecting users to fraudulent “investment” platforms that appear legitimate.
  6. Allowing small initial withdrawals to build trust.
  7. Charging fees for further withdrawals without returning the invested money.

CNPF urges citizens:

  • Be extremely cautious with unsolicited invitations to join online investment groups.
  • Always verify the authenticity and licensing of financial entities on the official CNPF website.
  • Do not install unknown apps or grant remote access to your personal devices.
  • Report any suspicious activity to the police and/or CNPF immediately.

If you believe you’ve been a victim of such fraud:

  1. Immediately cease all contact with the alleged scammers.
  2. Do not send any more money under any circumstances.
  3. Report the incident to law enforcement.
  4. Inform your family and friends to prevent further spread.

Stay vigilant! Offers that seem too good to be true are usually scams. Protect yourself and your loved ones through awareness and caution.

The list of entities authorized by CNPF is public and available here: https://tinyurl.com/2rarcntv
For entities authorized in other countries, consult the registers of financial supervisory authorities (ASF, ESMA, FCA, CySEC, CONSOB, etc.)
