On the occasion of the International Day of Older Persons, President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, delivered a message of gratitude and appreciation to all seniors in the country, TRIBUNA reports.
The Head of State emphasized the important role seniors play in every family and in society: “I wish all Moldovan seniors good health, peace, and joy alongside their loved ones. Our grandparents and parents taught us what it means to be human, to love our country, and to cherish family. Let’s call and visit them more often, listen to them, and make their lives easier. Respect and care for our seniors make us a stronger and more united society.”
The Day of Older Persons was established on December 14, 1990, by the United Nations General Assembly. For over three decades, the celebration has aimed to promote the rights of older people and a positive image of aging in society.
