Today, parliamentary elections are taking place in the Republic of Moldova. Voters are expected at 2,274 polling stations, of which 1,973 are open within the territory of the Republic of Moldova, including 12 stations for residents from the left bank of the Dniester, and 301 polling stations abroad, 4 of which are designated for voting by mail.
Regarding the polling stations established abroad, we inform that the voting process started at 07:00 local time without any reported issues. Overseas polling stations will remain open until 21:00 (local time in each country).
Thus, voting is already underway in Japan, where traditionally the first voter casts their ballot. Voting is also taking place in over 30 polling stations in China, India, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Azerbaijan, Israel, the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Belarus, Turkey, and European countries within our time zone: Romania, Greece, Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and others.
For these elections, over 3.6 million ballots have been printed, of which 865 thousand have been distributed to polling stations abroad. The ballot includes 23 electoral competitors.
