The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) reminds that today, September 26, 2025, is the final day on which electoral campaigning is permitted for the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for September 28, 2025.
According to the provisions of the Electoral Code, campaigning is strictly prohibited on election day and the day before. During this period, candidates are not allowed to appear on television or radio programs. Additionally, local public authorities and advertising distributors — owners or managers of fixed or mobile advertising devices — are required to remove electoral advertising materials. It is important to note that this restriction does not apply to content already published online.
According to Article 52 of the Contravention Code No. 218/2008, continuing electoral campaigning on the specified days by media outlets, electoral competitors, or citizens constitutes an administrative offense and is punishable by a fine ranging from 40 to 60 conventional units for individuals, and from 100 to 150 conventional units for legal entities.
