Daniel Vodă, spokesperson for the Government, stated in a video commentary that “Russia has experience in occupying foreign territories. The European Union expands to welcome countries into a space of peace and prosperity,” reports TRIBUNA.
He emphasized that the country’s leadership has warned about Russia’s daily flood of crude disinformation targeting Moldova’s information space.
“The so-called ‘alerts’ about alleged plans for Europe to occupy Moldova are a hysterical reaction fabricated by Russian services in response to President Maia Sandu’s message yesterday. Their sole purpose is to frighten people and undermine trust in our European path,” Vodă said.
He concluded by noting that through Sunday’s vote, Moldovans will freely decide the direction of their country.
