President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, will undertake a working visit to the Italian Republic and the Holy See from 10 to 12 September 2025, TRIBUNA reports.
In Rome, the Head of State will meet with the President of the Council of Ministers of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, to discuss the deepening of bilateral relations, Italy’s support for Moldova’s European path, the expansion of economic cooperation, and the assistance provided to the Moldovan community in Italy. She will also hold talks with the President of the Senate, Ignazio La Russa.
At the Holy See, President Maia Sandu will be received in audience by His Holiness Pope Leo XIV. The meeting will offer an opportunity to exchange views on promoting peace, solidarity, and Christian values in a world facing multiple challenges. The President will also meet with Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin.
President Maia Sandu’s visit to Italy and the Holy See is part of Moldova’s broader efforts to strengthen external partnerships, ensure peace at home, and contribute to regional and European security.
