The Republic of Moldova will be in the spotlight during the first plenary session of the European Parliament this autumn, according to MEP Siegfried Mureșan, TRIBUNA reports.
“We’ve included three major events dedicated to the Republic of Moldova on the agenda of next week’s plenary session in Strasbourg:
First, we will negotiate and vote on a resolution, which I co-initiated, reaffirming the European Parliament’s support for Moldova’s EU accession process. At the same time, we will push for increased European support for Moldova in the face of threats from the Russian Federation.
Second, we will hold a debate on the key elements to be included in the resolution: Moldova’s European integration, support against Russian aggression, and financial assistance from EU funds.
And third, the President of the Republic of Moldova will deliver a speech before the European Parliament on Tuesday at noon,” he stated.
The MEP emphasized that it is important for the people of Moldova to see that they are — and will continue to be — a priority for the European Parliament and the European Union.
