The head of state is making a working visit to Brussels for meetings with the new leadership of the European institutions

President Maia Sandu, between December 10-11, will pay a working visit to Brussels to meet with the new leadership of the European institutions, including the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the European Council, António Costa, the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, and the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas. The visit reflects the renewed commitment of the Republic of Moldova to advance on the path of accession to the European Union, and to increase the standard of living of citizens through close cooperation with European partners, informs TRIBUNA.

Maia Sandu will discuss the integration of the economy of the Republic of Moldova in the single European market, attracting investments, financing infrastructure projects and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, in order to create well-paid jobs and improve people’s lives.

The agenda of the visit also includes the continuation of judicial reforms, the fight against corruption and the strengthening of the rule of law. President Sandu will also emphasize energy security and ensuring stable energy sources for all residents. During the visit, a meeting is also planned with the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Mark Rutte, where relations between the Republic of Moldova and NATO, a 30-year partnership, as well as issues related to regional security will be discussed.
